Whirl Wind Weekend

I am still trying to catch my breath from a whirl wind weekend. Just so much to do and not enough time to do it all.

We went to Casper, Wyoming this weekend for Grandma's 84th birthday. The trip is about

6 1/2 hours of nothingness (unless you are a rock and sagebrush lover). We left the three youngest children with friends/family, and took Jamesie Roo with us.

I thought I would be able to study my Biology on the long drive there, but it made me to nauseated. Therefore I just spent most of the trip arguing with Nate about the radio (he likes it/I don't).

I did take a nap for maybe an hour on the way up there. Seems Nate couldn't help himself and unbuttoned a couple of buttons on my shirt while I was sleeping. I found this out the embarrassing way. I went into the gas station for a potty break and after the second guys eyes shifted to my "special" area I decided to shift my own eyes there and was shocked and horrified to find myself way more exposed than I wanted to be. DARN HUSBAND (who watched me walk into the gas station and didn't say anything)!

We made it there without killing each other which is always a task to be very proud of. We also made it all in one piece because Nate is the BESTEST driver in the whole universe, even when he is going 120 while changing the station on his radio.... which he never ever does because speeding is against the law. Cough... Cough...

Then we went to a restaurant called Sanfords... it should have been called The 50 Minute Wait restaurant because that is how long it took to get food after we ordered it. GRRR. And it wasn't very good food. If you are ever traveling in Casper, the middle of nowhere, Wyoming... skip the Sanfords!

The hotel (C'mon Inn) was better, though they say they are an all queen bed hotel, but someone totally ripped them off because I swear those are the smallest queen beds I have ever seen. They also advertised two pools and one of the pools is a kiddie pool that is the size of a big bathtub???.... I guess if they want to put it that way... I have two pools at my house. YAY ME! I am shocked they didn't try to list all the bathtubs in all the rooms as "Your own private pool in each room".
K- so now I am at the part where we get to sleep... Did I tell you that sleeping is my very favoritist thing to do? I am liking it more and more every day!! ... Then.... we had to wake up... :-(
After waking up and getting ready for the day we went to Grandma and Grandpas house to do chores. On my list of "things to do" was dust blinds AND clean the portable humidifier AND decorate for the party at the restaurant. I started with the dusting... then I dusted some more, and some more... then I went and found the portable humidifier... I started to clean the portable humidifier... then I lost the portable humidifier. It wasn't a small one either so I am not sure how I lost it. I was soaking it and then??? Gone. I am thinking that the thing grew legs and walked off. With 20 some odd people in the house, I am hoping at least one of them knows what happened to it.
Then I dusted (some more)... and I swept... AND I ironed three hankies (took me 10 minutes and they probably had to be re-ironed by the 7 year old, because she was better at in than me).
This is what Nate did...

and this...

and a tiny bit of this... and maybe a few other things ;-)

Then I watched cousin #1 sit on cousin #2 for a while.

Then I watched another cousin have a mental breakdown because his soccer ball got ran over by a car. It was sort of funny in a not so funny way. Too NOT funny to get pictures.

Then it was time to go and get decorations ready. I got to work with Sarah Bara on Decor... and also mom and Becky. But Sarah and I had gone out and gotten decorations in SL and hauled them up there because even though Casper has a Wally World with pretty much the same stuff.... the Wally World in Salt Lake loves us more so we went there.

I have pics of our decorations (the blue & square glass stuff on the table). They were totally awesome.... Well... if you were as untalented craft wise as I am, then you would think they were totally awesome -k-.

Then the party began!!!

Sarah put together an awesome scrapbook of the day/night for grandma. She let me write in it a little. She is so nice! Actually she let everyone write in it so she is just brilliant and nice. Then she gave it to Grandma.

Then everyone sang Happy Birthday to Grandma. She got a pretty chocolate cake. She ate the whole thing by herself. I've never seen one person eat a cake that big before!....
Totally kidding people!!! Just making sure your still reading... she shared the cake with everyone, of course... though I didn't have any.

Then she opened presents. We got her fluffy pillows and a fluffy blanket. Can you see how totally thrilled and happy she is?? Who doesn't want fluffy stuff? I want to take my fluffy stuff to school with me and hug it and love it forever and ever. Sarah told me that she didn't think that was a good idea so I leave it home and cry on my way to school... but come on people. Fluffy stuff is just AWESOME!!!

Then it was time for the party to be over. It was a LOOONG day. We cleaned up a bit and then went to Wally World and met cool, awesome, nice people who printed up pictures (after hours) for us to finish up the scrapbook. Casper Walmart employees are actaully nice...wierd huh? Then we went to the hotel and stayed up too late finishing it. Then we went to bed.... did I tell you my favorite thing to do is sleep?

Sunday morning we had a family brunch and then said our good bye's and headed home. Nate tried to be nice to me, but I am just a big meanie and so now we are in a fight! I think we'll be in a fight for a couple of days. We really aren't fighting about anything in general... He just thinks I am annoying and I think he is annoying so we are just irritated with each other that each of us is annoyed by the other. Did you get that? It is very complex and everything.

Now we are home and we are grumpy and the kids are being annoying too! Someone thought it would be a good idea to sign them up for orchestra. I guess I better go take my Ibuprofen now because I am sure this headache is going to just get worse and worse with every little screech the bow makes. Oh yeah and someone (other than me because my voice is at a range where they can't hear it) should tell Emily that playing with her violin outside is a big no no and that is isn't wise to take it to your friends house either. Urrggghhhh.
