Prints has been having some rough times lately. A couple of months ago we noticed him having a seizure. Since then we have seen it happen many times. About three weeks ago it seemed that he had some kind of a stroke. He could no longer turn his head straight. Things were just getting worse.
About three days ago he disappeared. I looked all over the yard for him... checked the backyard... but to no avail. I tried to talk the girls into searching for him behind the house, but they didn't seem to worried. By yesterday I was pretty sure that he has died, I just wasn't sure where.
Today at church the neighbors a couple of doors down came and told me that they found a dead rabbit in their yard. I had Nate go check it out because I am kind of wimpy when it comes to dead things, and I was pretty sure it was him without even checking. There aren't many people around here with rabbits.
Nate confirmed that it was indeed our Charming "big" bunny. I told him that Emmy was going to freak out when I told her... I was right. Just yesterday I was telling her that he was most likely dead and she was agreeing with me. But she had a total melt down when it was confirmed. She marched over to the neighbors barefoot sobbing. She scooped up her dead bunny (holding him out in front of her) and brought him back home with bare hands. She did remark how incredibly heavy and stiff he was for being dead.
B-bad and James dug a whole in the back yard and my kids and the neighbor kids had a little funeral for him. Then the chickens danced on his grave for a little while. Emmy was sent straight up to take a shower. Ewww.
His chicken herding days are over, but never forgotten.
He will be missed. Though I have to admit it will be nice actually watching things grow in my garden this year.
